First response to Confrontation

When Adam and Eve committed sin, their first response to confrontation was an excuse.   " He said, 'Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?' The man said, 'The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.' Then the Lord God said to the woman, 'What is this that you have done?' The woman said, 'The serpent deceived me, and I ate.'”  Genesis 3:11-13    We can see that it is natural to go into a defense mechanism right away, and try to persuade that you are innocence, theirs always someone and something to blame.  God exposes Adams and Eve sin, to what they had to say, God this was all your fault.  The first thing we know about the sinful nature that it defense its own sin.
