I was asked in my english class to write something that changed me, something that had an impact on me, where I later volunteered to share it before the class for five extra credits. I sat for a minute to think about what really affected my life? what had an huge impact on me that changed everything that I do? Which I decided to write about my relationship with the Bible—since nothing more had that much of affect on me as this book. I do have to say, I felt a little awkward after no one wanted to applaud when I finished sharing, as applause came for the others students before me. But inspit that, knowing the bible really gave me a perspective of life, it changed everything. My view of goals, plans, priorities, the way I talk and the way I listen. Basically everything that I think and do is links to the scripture.
Later that day, I listened to an interview of Larry Woiwode by John Wilson. What was interesting about this person is that his life was also changed by this book. I believe he was in his thirties when he had an interest to know how do the authors of the bible think. As he begun reading the bible, the spirit of God touched his soul and he became a Christian. This person is among 20 best novels writers today of 20th Century, and taught as a professor at State University of New York for Creating Writing Program. Written lot's of books, but when he himself bumped into the bible, he did not stay the same. Amazing story.
When people do put enough time to understand what the scripture teaches, they come to understand that this writing is different then the rest of the writings—it becomes a word of life.
"Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life" (John 6:68).
