Abba! Father!

This picture was taken from: http://ymiblogging.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/abba-father.jpg

One of the truth that bring peace and comfort is knowing that you are a child of God.  Most of the time people don’t pay attention as they hear that phase floating around in what does it actually mean.  But that is the same in the humanly family when a child who doesn't understand the privilege that he has in having a mother and a father.  People always been saying: "most of the time when the children respect their parents is in their late thirties or forties, some never even come to that conclusion.

But, knowing what does it mean to be a child of God brings peace and comfort to our hearts.   Usually children don't do anything to deserves their fathers love, the father just loves his children--and this is true of the picture of sinner and the God as He redeems a sinner placing him in His family.  In Galatians, Apostle Paul writes a letter to the people who knew little on the sonship of God as they were turning to Judaism and human works.  People been teaching circumcision, as to say, faith in Jesus Christ is not enough; so Paul writes them a letter explaining the danger that a person faces when he turns from Christ to human effort.

The problem with trusting your own effort or anything but Jesus Christ for salvation, is the rejection of God and his work on the Cross; in other words, person would be rejecting the only way that God saves, which is through Christ.  Reallying on your own will or effort don’t only characterize people in Galatians, but also those who don’t understand the sonship of God.  Where this is why Paul make his case in chapter four on what does it mean to be a son or a daughter of God.

“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.  And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”  So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.”(Galatians 4:4-7)

First we see how the person becomes child of God.  Paul says, “to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.”  The point of the Cross is to adopt a sinner in to God’s family.  God does not just forgive and takes away the wrath, but places a saved sinner into His own family.

Second, we notice the prof of being a child of God: “And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts.”  The transformation of persons life is how God adopts.  Being a Christian is not a life style or an identity to a community, but a total reformation of the persons mind and heart as Christ Spirit lives in the persons heart.

Third, freeness in calling God as your own father, is the character of being God's child: “God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, ‘Abba! Father!’.” This is how Christ called his Father: “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will” (Mark 14:36).  And this is how a person, who has Christ Spirit, calls God, Abba Father.

And the fort, is something that human mind would probably not understand but this is what the bible teaches, he is not only a child but also has an inheritance through Christ: “So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.”  Non only person deserves hell do to his sins, but God forgives him, redeems him, makes him His child, and gives him inheritance.  This is what Peter says in his letter:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.”  (I Peter 1:3-4)

To be a child of God is not only to be forgiven, but to be in God's family and receive the inheritance that the son receives from his Father.

Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scripture

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures ,  that he was buried , that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,   and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.  Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.   Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.   Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.   For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.   But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.   Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.  (1 Corinthians 15:3)

The Last Moments of Christopher Hitchens life

Christopher Hitchens is one of the leading atheist of our times, they call it the new atheism now.  He also is the author of a book, “God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything,” that was just recently released; heavily opposing religion and any idea that God exist.  But right now Mr Hitchens is in his last stages of the esophageal cancer.  The New Your Time describes his last moments of life like this: “Some of these articles were written with the full consciousness that they might be my very last. Sobering in one way and exhilarating in another, this practice can obviously never become perfected.”  Another words, Hitchens has little time left. Smoking and drinking was something that Hitchens needed to quit, life was more important then the pleasures of these habits, not mentioning that he had a feeding tube installed since June.  He had power in articulating his worldview to others, the ideas, but were these thoughts the reality of our world? You could notice that Mr Hi

The Goodness of God and the Presence of Evil

Often skeptics of the Bible, pose a question: If God were all-powerful, he would have had ability to prevent evil. If God were all-good, he would have desired to prevent evil. So if God were both all-powerful and all good, there would have been no evil. But there is evil. Therefore, an all-powerful and all-good God does not exist. How can such a God exist, since there are so many children who are murdered every day? How can this God exist, when innocent girls get raped? The matter to be told, everyone has his own definition of evil. For example, some would say, murdering children after they are born is evil, yet murdering children while the baby is still in the womb is not. In fact, killing babies inside of a mother’s womb has been legalized and become socially accepted. Definition of Evil Most people who attempt to answer the problem of evil, define evil according to their own experiences. Overtime, a perspective on the definition of evil is formed, and most people reject
