Does Jealousy has something to do with not having unity among each Other?

http://goodmedicinecartoons.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/the_other_disciples_were_jealous.jpg Every though about why would someone be so aggressive, bitter, cold  towards a person who does no harm, but experiences success in the things he or she does?   Reading about Apostle Paul in Acts gives us some kind of hint in why would someone act in such a way.  The behavior that we see now does not differ from the behavior that we see in the past--human is human since the fall of man because of his sinful nature.  The situation that Apostle Paul faced in his life would be no less reality in how we or someone would behave this way now. Some background on what Paul went through:   “ The next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord.   But when the Jews saw the crowds , they were filled with jealousy and began to contradict what was spoken by Paul, reviling him” (13:44-45).  We have Paul sharing the gospel to...

A Moment of Truth

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9b/Tissot-jacobs-body-is-taken-to-canaan-445x291.jpg Then Joseph could not control himself before all those who stood by him. He cried, “Make everyone go out from me.” So no one stayed with him when Joseph made himself known to his brothers.  And he wept aloud, so that the Egyptians heard it, and the household of Pharaoh heard it.  And Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph! Is my father still alive?” But his brothers could not answer him, for they were dismayed at his presence. So Joseph said to his brothers, “Come near to me, please.” And they came near. And he said, “I am your brother, Joseph, whom you sold into Egypt.  And now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life. . . And God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth, and to keep alive for you many survivors.  So it was not you who sent me here, but God. He has made ...

Marriage?

http://sountracktoido.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/boy-girl-holding-hands-ka.jpg?w=300 May 24, 2011 -- Lately marriage has been on my mind, it is something that was part of God's plan as He created this world.  God said,   “ Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh” (Genesis 2:24).  The question arises, is marriage important?  Is this something that a young single man should pursue and worry about?  If this is God’s plan and a His design, then yes.   People were created for marriage, and because of that, when a person does not marry, it doesn’t mean he escapes the design that was put into him from the beginning.  A few days ago, I read Tim Challies blog where he described Murray’s biography of John MacArthur, and in there he mentioned Surgeons quote:  “A true wife is the husband’s better half, his flower of beauty, and his heart’s treasure. In her company he finds his earthl...

How is it possible for Apostle Paul to stay Humble?

Picture was taken from: http://media-3.web.britannica.com/eb-media/93/130093-050-4926C50E.jpg Ever thought about how was it possible for Apostle Paul to serve Christ and at the same time stay humble?  If we look at his life and the impact he had on others, we could say that this is the second person after Christ who had a major impact on Church and it's growth. He opened new churches, shared the gospel to everyone who he meet, even the people who are high authority, like the government.  And because of what he did, he was tortured, beaten, and put to prison--we also see Christ Himself personally appeared to him and teaching him the doctrines–it is too many things to say about the impact that Paul had on the growth of the church.  On the contrary, when we read his letters, we get a perspective of this humble, gentle person who loves people and God. Then the question appears, how can someone do so much for Christ and at the same time stay humble?  And this ques...

Serving God but not really

Can you minister, do God's work but don't have time when you grow and be satisfied in Him?  Yes you can, but no one knows except the person who is ministering and God.  This is something that I've been facing with while going through college and ministering at the same time.  And this podcast reflects the hearts of most of the people when they minister.  Tim Challies posted this, where I thought it would be good to repost for those who didn't had a chance to hear it. I hope you don't have to go through what this guy went and going through. Abba! Father!

This picture was taken from: http://ymiblogging.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/abba-father.jpg One of the truth that bring peace and comfort is knowing that you are a child of God.  Most of the time people don’t pay attention as they hear that phase floating around in what does it actually mean.  But that is the same in the humanly family when a child who doesn't understand the privilege that he has in having a mother and a father.  People always been saying: "most of the time when the children respect their parents is in their late thirties or forties, some never even come to that conclusion. But, knowing what does it mean to be a child of God brings peace and comfort to our hearts.   Usually children don't do anything to deserves their fathers love, the father just loves his children--and this is true of the picture of sinner and the God as He redeems a sinner placing him in His family.  In Galatians, Apostle Paul writes a letter to the people who...

God is real in our Suffering

The story of Josiah Grauman shows how he went from hating God to be a missionary in Mexico.  In few minutes, he speaks on the  Sovereignty  of God as he faced pain and suffering--watched this video twice and twice had tears in my eyes. This video was originally posted at: http://www.gty.org/Resources/Videos/Story08

God is unsearchable, incomparable, and not Limited

Who has measured the Spirit of the LORD, or what man shows him his counsel? Whom did he consult, and who made him understand? Who taught him the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding? Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are accounted as the dust on the scales; behold, he takes up the coastlands like fine dust. Lebanon would not suffice for fuel, nor are its beasts enough for a burnt offering. All the nations are as nothing before him, they are accounted by him as less than nothing and emptiness. To whom then will you liken God, or what likeness compare with him? An idol! A craftsman casts it, and a goldsmith overlays it with gold and casts for it silver chains. He who is too impoverished for an offering chooses wood that will not rot; he seeks out a skillful craftsman to set up an idol that will not move. Do you not know? Do you not hear? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not...

Are you a humble person?

Lately i've been thinking about  humility .  The question I wanted to answer was: what is humility?  Is it a human will that you work for, or is it a mindset that you have?   By doning some reading i've stumbled on John Pipers article, I think he has something to say about this: "1. Humility begins with a sense of subordination to God in Christ. "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master" (Matthew 10:24). "Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God" (1 Peter 5:6). 2. Humility does not feel a right to better treatment than Jesus got. "If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household!" (Matthew 10:25). Therefore humility does not return evil for evil. It is not life based on its perceived rights. "Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps. . . . While suffering, He uttered no threats, but handed [his cause] ...

Is experience needed to obey the Scripture?

This picture was taken from: http://ryansmartt.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/bible-reading-guy.jpg For generations to generations the phrase “you are young” been thrown out for the defence--pressure or jealousy characterized the motive when that phrased is used in order to say he just does not have experience.  People say, “you are not capable of doing things what others can.” Or “you don’t have enough experienced where others do.”  From the side it might look like as a correct statement, but when we look at the person who is older, question arises if it the experience is need to speak the truth, to influence others; nether does the bible supports that kind of thinking.   History is rich of young men sharing the gospel, and having a huge impact on generations.  Most of these influential men are characterized by someone who started the ministering when they were young.  Look at  Spurgeon for example, a person who is called the king of preachers.  W....

Laughter that came from Ignorance

“When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting to meet him . Then the Spirit of the LORD rushed upon him, and the ropes that were on his arms became as flax that has caught fire, and his bonds melted off his hands.  And he found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, and put out his hand and took it, and with it he struck 1,000 men.”  (Judges 15:14 15 )
