Just makes me think of the future wedding between Christ and His bride, the Church

A reminder to all that we are not in Charge

Tornado is sweeping across the United States damaging houses, business, and taking humans lives.   People saying that this is the worst storm ever that they know of:  "’We have never experienced such a major weather event in our history,’ the Tennessee Valley Authority said in a statement.”   The BBC news say that there are around 300 tornado's appeared since Friday:  “The US National Weather Service has reports of nearly 300 tornadoes since the storms began on Friday, more than 150 of them on Wednesday alone., and that’s a lot.”  Because of this, there were “2,000 soldiers scoured the wreckage for survivors.”  President of the United State is focusing on bringing help to the people: “state of emergency has been declared in seven states, and federal aid money is being sent to Alabama.”   But this is not over, more storms are coming, “Storms have hit states across the southern US for weeks, and another major storm system is forecast to bring heavy rain in the coming days.”

The Steps of Jesus

Communion   The steps of Jesus is the reminder for us all. Taking the cup and eating the bread serves as reminder of what Jesus did on the cross; the Father forgave the sinner, was satisfied in his holiness as He pored the wrath on his Son. You might ask, why would He do that? Why kill His own Son? Well it's because of who He is, and it's because of who we are.  God by nature is love, and by nature is holy--on the cross these two sides meet.  The cross of Christ reflects holiness and incomparable love; humans are lost, guilty, fall short in our own righteousness; everywhere we look, we see murder, hatred, and crime, but that is only from our human perspective--from God perspective the scale is much higher.  Every person that comes into the earth, comes in to the earth guilty, sinners before God (Romans 5:12). Being a sinner, guilty before God, Jesus however, makes an intervention for those who believe in Him. "Yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for

The Branch on the Vine

Some people say that you could walk away from the faith in Christ; and suppose that this is true, you cannot say this according the John 15:1-8 passage which is being quoted the most in this argument. The vine that does not have fruit in reality does not have Christ. First of all, we need to understand what Jesus is saying in this passage. Jesus illustrates himself, the Father, and the his followers: His father being a vinedresser, He is the vine, and his followers are the branches. At the beginning of his illustration, Jesus makes a statement; that there are two branches that are coming out of Him, both of those branches are His. Jesus says, “Every branch of mine” (2), in other words, when Jesus later makes the statement that the vinedresser cuts away the unfruitful branch and it is thrown in to the fire for it to burn because of no fruit, this branch is somehow connected to the vine. Note that the only connection that this branch has is the appearance, and nothing else. T

Seeking help from a Demon

The attraction for love and money is the driving force to millions of people.  This is what the vendors are looking at when they are  advertising their product . People are willing go anywhere to do anything to be rich or receive love.  The sad part is, religion bought into this kind of thinking.  Prosperity gospel plays a huge roll for some preachers to make their wallets big.  However, a religion by the name voodoo also attacks people by what it has to offer; a false hope in making a person more richer or a better love life draws people to this religion.   Dan Bilefsky in the New York Times writes an article under the name “Voodoo, an Anchor, Rises Again,' showing that this religion has been an attraction point for those who are looking for love and money.   This religion even attracted a business man, who’s stocks were falling down.  Bilefsky write, "Wall Street bankers seeking spells to guard against falling share prices and homemakers aggrieved about wayward husba

"A Sweet & Bitter Providence" by John Piper

John Piper in his book “A Sweet and Bitter Providence” writes that God is at work in the worst of times of our lives, and these worst of times are not wasted. This book is focused on the book of Ruth to show how she went through darkest times of her life, but because she believed in the sovereign God, she took correct steps in her life, "preparing the world for the glories of Jesus Christ."  Ruth follows Naomi after the death of her husband leaving her family to a place that she never been.  She is a foreigner, non-Israelite, but takes refuge under the wing of Naomis God.  From early morning to evening she worked hard on the field collecting ears of grain.  The owner of the field, Boaz, gives her permission to collect as much as she needed, warning his workers to not be abominable to her, later he end up marring her.   Even though some steps were taken in order to seduce Boaz, Naomi instructs Ruth to go in at night and lay next to Boaz feet, so when he does wake’s up, s
