“God’s will or my Will?”

This question arises no less as boy’s and girl’s approach their adolescence, a step that they might not be prepared in their life; at the same time, this question remains obscure in the older generation, Christians who have been walking with the Lord for quite a wile now.  However, some Christians interpret God’s will by their dreams, thinking that God communicates signs.  I don't know what technics are being used to interpret these dream, but some how they get a sense of understanding in what God wants to communicate.  Others wait for super natural activity in order to understand the will of God; eventually from the side, it just looks like these people are waiting for a voice from heaven in order to clarifying, or more accurately, confirming what they already decided in their mind.

Don't get me wrong, as Christians, it is normal to seek the will of God; it is actually one of the things Christians are instructed to do when they have a need, letting God know everything that arrives in their life, in other words, seeking his will in every step that they take.  Apostle Paul in Philippians writes, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God" (4:6).  Another word, worry is something that Christians should not experience or persevere in it because they has a loving God who cares for them.  Any need that that Christian experience need's to be taken to their God.  However, this does not explain to us how should the will of God be understood.

Because most of the people are confused in understanding the will of God, this dulls the true teaching when the bible does speaks about it.  Actually, when Apostle Paul was writing a letter to Colossians, he mentioned this in his prayer for them, which requires Colossians to know the will of God and have it as the main priority of their life.  Paul says, "And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding" (Colossians 1:9).  Here, the main concern that Paul had for these people was so their life would be filled with the will of God.  This should be something normal for a Christian as he lives day by day, the knowledge of God’s will should guide their decision in what they do.

God has a will that he reveals to his people, and understanding that will shapes person’s daily lives. The problem here, as humans, we have our own will that we strive to pursue, and not only that, we want God’s approval on it. Therefore, we seek support from anything that could give us gratification, giving us false hope when we pursue it––even a dream could be the false hope.  People have desires, which are normal to a degree, unless they are build on not on the truth, not on the will of God.

Understanding God in “all spiritual wisdom and understanding,” clarifies questions that people usually ask.  Having a high priority in understand God is different then seeking the priority that we established.  Therefore, as Christians, we need to put our time and effort to seek God and His will, and not our will, that seeks and pursues our own satisfaction in life.  That is why Paul’s main priority for Colossians is so their life would be filled with "knowledge of His will" because that is the key in knowing God’s will for our life.

What about you, how do you understand God’s will in you life?

Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scripture

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures ,  that he was buried , that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,   and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.  Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.   Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.   Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.   For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.   But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.   Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.  (1 Corinthians 15:3)

The Last Moments of Christopher Hitchens life

Christopher Hitchens is one of the leading atheist of our times, they call it the new atheism now.  He also is the author of a book, “God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything,” that was just recently released; heavily opposing religion and any idea that God exist.  But right now Mr Hitchens is in his last stages of the esophageal cancer.  The New Your Time describes his last moments of life like this: “Some of these articles were written with the full consciousness that they might be my very last. Sobering in one way and exhilarating in another, this practice can obviously never become perfected.”  Another words, Hitchens has little time left. Smoking and drinking was something that Hitchens needed to quit, life was more important then the pleasures of these habits, not mentioning that he had a feeding tube installed since June.  He had power in articulating his worldview to others, the ideas, but were these thoughts the reality of our world? Why Job DID NOT cursed God?

http://www.skybluevaping.co.za/image/data/journal/1383-1.jpg The tone of the conversation was different when Satan appeared before God second time. Not because Satan repented or agreed with God, but because his hypothesis fell short.  Satan just destroyed Jobs wealth and his children (seven sons and three daughters) using evil men, fire, and wind arguing that this was the reason why Job served God in the first place. Job response to his lost was not a cursing God attitude but a humble worship.  “ Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return.  The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord ” (Job 1:20).    When Satan appears before God second time, God asked him the same question as he did in the first conversation,  "' Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and ...
